Action Update -January 2006
The new Action Committee — appointed to pick up where the Vision Committee finished its work — had its first meeting Jan. 9. Members are Herb Sanford, Donna Rood, Tom Osborn, Kathy VanBergen and Mary Sanford; and ex-officio members Marge Peterson and Pastor Lorraine.
The committee had a good review of the Vision Committee report and discussed how to proceed.  Many approaches were discussed.
Members decided some of the equipment needs identified by the Vision Committee will be critical to tackling the many areas of growth desired. So, for starters, the church needs the following: a fax machine; internet access at the church office; membership in the Pentwater Chamber of Commerce (If you have questions about this, please ask a committee member. It relates to positioning ourselves to attract more summer visitors).
Additionally, the committee requests that the head usher take an attendance count each Sunday and that it be published in the Bulletin the following Sunday and the month report be included in each Encounter.
